About Us

Providing the most engaging, hands-on STEM learning experiences for students of all ages.

Our Mission

To provide the most engaging, hands-on STEM learning experiences for students of all ages—focused on engineering applications and real-world problem solving.

Who We Are

STEM+C is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Gilbert, Arizona. We've been teaching robotics and engineering for over a decade through competitions, clubs, workshops, and mentorship.

We're a community team—not tied to any one school. Students from any school (or homeschool) can join.

FIRST Robotics Partnership

We are proud partners with FIRST (firstinspires.org), and have competed in:

2
Years
FIRST LEGO League (FLL)
7
Years
FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC)
1
Year
FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC)

Our Philosophy

We believe learning is messy—and that's a good thing. We encourage trial, error, iteration, and exploration. Our motto, from FDR, says it best:

"It is common sense to take a method and try it. If it fails, admit it frankly and try another. But above all, try something."

— Franklin D. Roosevelt

Our Impact

STEM+C alumni have gone on to study engineering at:

Columbia University
Arizona State University
University of Arizona
Northern Arizona University
San Diego State University
University of Washington

They've built careers at Intel, AMD, HP, and more.

With the automation industry growing faster than ever—Automate 2025 saw 50% more attendees than 2023—our students are entering a field with strong career demand and exceptional growth potential.

Mentorship & Safety

Industry Mentors

Unlike school-based programs led by teachers, our students work directly with engineering and business professionals from Arizona's robotics, semiconductor, and automation industries. Our mentors bring real-world experience in software development, mechanical engineering, project management, and more—helping students become confident, capable, and career-ready.

Safe Environment

Safety is a top priority. All mentors and volunteers are background-checked, and we maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all students at all times.
